Bad Bunny Sets Record as ‘Vete’ Becomes His 16th Song to Surpass 1 Billion Streams on Spotify
Bad Bunny‘s smash hit “Vete” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, becoming his 16th song to reach the milestone. This achievement earns El Conejo Malo yet another record for the books, making him the first Latin artist to have more than 15 songs with over a billion streams. A Spotify rep confirmed the news to Billboard Español on Friday (Aug. 9).
Released in November 2019 by Rimas Entertainment, “Vete” served as the lead single for Bad Bunny’s second solo studio album, YHLQMDLG (2020). The album — its title is an acronym for Yo Hago Lo Que Me De La Gana (or I Do What I Feel Like Doing) — has also surpassed 10 billion streams on Spotify, his second studio album to reach the mark after Un Verano Sin Ti. Among his 16 billion-streaming hits are “Dákiti” with Jhayco, leading the pack with more than two billion steams, “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Moscow Mule,” “Ojitos Lindos” featuring Bomba Estéreo and more.
With his intense vocal delivery, the compelling heartbreak song captures the raw and bitter emotions of a romantic separation, integrating them into the robust beats of reggaetón. The track features a hypnotic hook that resonates throughout, while Bunny conveys the anguish and decisive end of a relationship.
