Katy Perry is being investigated by the Balearic government because of her latest video for “Lifetimes.” In the music video, she’s seen dancing around Ibiza and Formentera. Part of the filming took place on an islet in the Ses Salines Natural Park. The area of concern is a restricted area of the dunes that is protected by poles and ropes, prohibiting visitors from passage. According to a press release, The Department of the Environment has not yet determined whether a crime against the environment has occurred, but the ministry confirmed the production company for the video did not obtain authorization to film in the protected area and they didn’t even apply for it. Billboard has reached out to Katy Perry’s team for comment.
