Megan Thee Stallion Hits Back at ‘Fake Mad’ Critics of Her Kamala Harris Rally Performance

Megan Thee Stallion is getting something off her chest and laying it to rest. Though her performance at Kamala Harris’ kickoff campaign rally in Atlanta was met with lots of praise, others criticized the rapper for not taking a more conservative approach — something she addressed during her headlining Lollapalooza set Thursday (Aug. 1).

“Let me pop my s–t real quick,” she told the crowd in Chicago. “[People] were fake mad that I was popping it for Kamala. I don’t think they heard what she said.”

“Kamala said she wants a ceasefire,” she continued. “Kamala said she supports women’s rights. And she said she’s tired of those high-ass gas prices … It’s Hotties for Harris, goddammit!”

The rally performance came just two days before Lolla, with Meg taking the stage in Atlanta dressed in a crop top and blue pantsuit. Though she did sprinkle in a little twerking, the hitmaker censored her lyrics and kept her message focused: “I know my ladies in the crowd love their bodies … if you want to keep loving your bodies, you know who to vote for,” she said before rapping her 2020 hit “Body.”

The Houston Hottie also filmed a video with the presumptive Democratic nominee backstage. “What’s up, hotties? This is Megan Thee Stallion, aka the Hot Girl Coach, reporting live with the future president of the United States!” she told her TikTok followers in the clip, filming the clip selfie-style with Harris smiling next to her. “What do you have to say to the American people?”

“We are not going back,” the VP replied.

The “Hiss” musician is just one of many music stars who has endorsed Harris since she announced her White House bid in place of Joe Biden, who dropped out of the race July 21 before quickly endorsing his second-in-command for the role. Migos’ Quavo was also on hand at Harris’ Atlanta event to speak, while Cardi B, Lizzo, Ariana Grande, John Legend and more have all posted in support of the campaign.

Watch Meg address her rally performance at Lolla below.
