Todrick Hall recalls Stephen Boss was under pressure for Ellen DeGeneres before his death

Todrick Hall has recalled how working for Ellen DeGeneres affected Stephen Boss’s wellbeing.

After The Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ Stephen Boss died by suicide last month, his friend Todrick Hall recounted how working on the show affected his wellbeing.

While speaking to Page Six for an interview published on Wednesday, Todrick claimed Stephen was under pressure for Ellen DeGeneres’s “toxic workplace” scandal prior to his death.

“People were looking at him like, ‘Why are you still supporting this woman,’” Todrick recalled, “and I think he was under a lot of pressure.”

He continued, “I don’t know what was going on in his life that may (have led) him to make that decision but I do understand. Right now when I get online some days like right now, if I was in the wrong position of where this abuse would keep happening for years and years and years, there’s only so much a human being can take.”

Todrick said of Stephen generally, “He was just somebody who always supported me. He was also kind and down to earth.

“He came over (to) my house a couple of times and we shot TikTok videos together.”

Stephen was found dead on 13 December in a Los Angeles hotel room. Authorities concluded the DJ and television producer had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 40 years old.

Just days prior, the DJ and his 34-year-old wife, Allison Holker, celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. The pair, who met while filming the reality television dance competition So You Think You Can Dance, shared three children – Weslie, 14, Maddox, six, and Zaia, three.
